YT VIDEO – I’ve made a massive mistake!

Week 2 in the unit, Episode 2 on YouTube and I’m already causing havoc!

Stepping up with the thumbnails, might have a theme to them soon!

Buying a mezzanine on a whim was not what I set out to do when i got up that morning, and also not what I though would happen that day, but it kind of did. I have a very specific size to work to and I know that whatever mezzanine I buy would not fit, but a custom build is out of my budget.

The space i have in the building is 7.5m x 5.5m, and the plan was to build a mezzanine in an L shape that goes around the ramp (currently being made to order). It leaves me 7.5m x 3m down the side and around 3m x 3m on the back of the ramp.

This mezzanine comes in at 8m x 3m, exactly what I needed, just a trim of half a metre off the end and that will go straight in! I’d be able to adjust the lengths to suit the irregular internals, and then just fabricate the last part of the shape once the ramp is in. Being a single beam lengthwise instead of posts gives me so many more benefits too with moving stuff around the finished shop.

I threw in a cheeky offer of £400 instead of £500, and not only did it get accepted but Paypal paid it for me so it was mine regardless.

It looked a bit overkill in the photos but it wasn’t until I turned up at the collection that I saw how big it was. I was genuinely considering either bring the beams back on the back of a trailer or even putting them on the roof, and I certainly did not expect a full articulated lorry for the collection I arranged!

German Autowerks were really helpful loading it all up for me, and my neighbors on the park were absolutely brilliant helping me unload.

Since it’s arrival I do have a plan on what I’m going to do, whether it works or not remains to be seen but You’ll all find out the same time as me when I video the next episode.
